New York, NY, September 7th, 2018 – New York based contemporary luxury womenswear label, Vivienne Hu, is pleased to unveil the latest collection for Spring/Summer 2019 with a runway show held on Friday, September 7th at Spring Studios in Tribeca for New York Fashion Week. Creative Director Vivienne Hu got her inspiration from flowers and fruits. While flowers of kindness resemble all dainty and ravishing beauties in the world, fruits of evilness resemble the struggles in our life. The brand presented a youthful and vibrant look on the runway.
This season started by looking at flowers and the botanical gardens that house them. The design team became interested in the organic and delicate nature of the flowers and the very rigid architecture within these gardens. It was the paradox of these two things existing in the same space that inspired the collection. The team decided to analyze this dichotomy, looking specifically at good vs. evil. Good and evil as concepts aren’t black and white, both can’t exist without each other and are opposite while also needing each other to exist. The fabrications used in this collection are all special textures and designs, the design team developed playing with the texture of flowers. The silhouettes both embody the organic shape of the flowers, while also incorporating structure from the architecture. The clothing features ruffles, pleating, rouching etc. to replicate the floral structure.
This season the VivienneHu girl is more playful. She’s more confident in embracing her feminine side. She’s extremely empowered. The clothes features fabrication that are present in the history of womenswear dress: ruffles, lace, velvet, floral prints, silks, rouching, sequins etc. The collection designs into the classic tailored jacket that Vivienne Hu is known for and offers many different fashion forward options of this classic style providing her customers a one of a kind and jaw dropping look. The brand dives into denim, for the first time really delivering a strong and unique take on denim. This collection is for any woman looking to expand her closet and be the envy of her friends. The classic silhouettes and expensive finishing combined with expertly designed fabrication in the colors for spring make for this season’s must haves. This also marks the debut of Vivienne Hu Couture and Red Carpet line which features exclusive designs that are only made to order.
As part of the runway show, Vivienne Hu is pleased to announce that Ex:Beaute has released special gifts on Sept 7th. Ex:beaute is a high-quaility makeup brand from Tokyo Japan, which has released exclusive lipstick palettes “for VivienneHu SS19”. The lipstick palette includes five colors, Modern Red, Premium Pink, Soft Orange, French Beige, and Sweet Pink, which can be applied in a creative way to suit the needs for the trendy VivienneHu girl. New York, NY, February 13th, 2018 – New York based womenswear label, Vivienne Hu, is pleased to unveil the latest collection for Autumn / Winter 2018 with a runway show held on Tuesday, February 13th at Spring Studios in Tribeca for New York Fashion Week. For the first time since the brand launched in 2012, Creative Director Vivienne Hu looked to her Chinese heritage, particularly the historic DunHuang Mogao Grottoes, for inspiration when creating this latest, vibrant offering.
Known as the Thousand Buddha Grottoes, the Mogao caves sit at a cultural and religious crossroads on the Silk Road in Gansu, China. The Vivienne Hu design team took a trip to this rich, historical site in the summer of 2017 to take in the incomparable Buddhist art spanning a period of over 1,654 years. The colors, textures and overall mood of the caves paved the way for the development of the Vivienne Hu Autumn / Winter 2018 offering, which offers up an array of styles in rich ambers, greens, indigos and cinnabar tones.
Featuring art that combines Central Asian, Indian and Chinese motifs within any singular Mogao cave, the Vivienne Hu design team sought to capture the feeling created by the caves’ unique, mystical art. Inspired by the dance-like fluttering images within these caves that illustrate saintly creatures in flight, the Fall/Winter 2018 offering is a synthesis of supple materials that interplay with each other to create a continuous feeling of movement. Expertly layered silk garments, distinctly cut knits, and tailored wool outer layers are juxtaposed with ultra-soft faux furs and topped with elegant embroidery to help bring a feeling of Chinese antiquity to life while seamlessly fusing the historical with the modern.
As part of this runway presentation, Vivienne Hu is also pleased to unveil an exciting new collaboration with Tencent Co. on a high tech, stylish yet sporty, Qzone sneaker release via the brand’s VHNY label – a more streetwear focused collection by the designer . A further exploration into the bridge between Eastern tradition and modern living, the VHNY x Qzone sneaker was created to be a functional work of modern art, which further embodies the deep values of Eastern culture as seen through the sculptures and wall illustrations inside the Mogao caves.
Featuring a pattern reminiscent of Chinese cloud artistry atop technologically savvy materials which light up in an array of colors (including deep red, blue, green, purple, white and amber) by an advanced tech fiber inside the shoe, the sneakers were created to represent a physical “path to enlightenment” wherever the wearer goes. The ultralightweight fabrication and clean lines capture the signature Mogao feeling of flight, each time the wearer is in motion. In addition to an array of light up color options to choose from when wearing the style, the shoes also offer options for color display to “light the way,” ranging from blinking lights to consistent deep colors. Available in a clean white or sleek black base, this collaborative sneaker is a modern interpretation of Eastern tradition for the 21st century shopper.
The VHNY x Tencent Qzone sneaker is the first collaboration for the brand with global leader Tencent Co. (the eighth largest company in the world) and Qzone, the company’s popular social media platform in China, which is used by more than 600 million people.
